Choosing CUHK-Shenzhen is a deliberate decision to study finance technology and markets actually intersect. The university’s location in Shenzhen, the center of China’s tech boom, combined with an entirely English-taught curriculum makes it the ideal place for my undergraduate studies.
The School of Management and Economics appeals to me because of its heavy emphasis on data and quantitative analysis. Finance today is driven by numbers, and my background in IB Higher Level Mathematics (AI) has given me the statistical foundation needed to handle your advanced coursework in financial modeling and corporate finance.
Choosing Jinan University—specifically the English-taught Finance program within the International School—is a deliberate step toward aligning my academic background with the frontier of global commerce. JNU has a historic reputation as a premier institution for international students and a vital bridge connecting China to the global economy. Located in Guangzhou, a core economic engine of the Greater Bay Area, the university offers an open, forward-looking ecosystem that is ideal for my undergraduate studies.
The International School’s curriculum immediately attracted me because it does not teach finance in a vacuum it emphasizes practical, real-world application and global market dynamics. To prepare for this rigorous major, I chose a highly targeted commerce track in the International Baccalaureate program, focusing on Higher Level Mathematics (Applications and Interpretation), Economics, and Business Management. My training in Math AI HL has equipped me with a strong foundational toolkit in statistics and data modeling. I am eager to bring this quantitative baseline to JNU, I can master advanced financial frameworks, asset valuation, and corporate finance.
Furthermore, my passion for economics extends beyond standard textbooks. As the author of the published book "Trapped in the Feed," which analyzes the psychological and behavioral effects of digital platform algorithms on consumers, I approach finance through a behavioral lens. Jinan University values comprehensive, self-driven talents who possess an international outlook. I am choosing JNU because I want to study under a world-class faculty that understands how digital ecosystems, consumer data, and market psychology are actively reshaping modern capital markets.
